Yeah, our government is pretty f**k awful. Not in an evil way, just in a "We are corrupt and only look after ourselves and our own interests" way.

Term limits are needed. Like right now.

Can "leadership" make the House GOP stop being insane and accept revenue increases. If not, what's the point of locking themselves in a room.

Nothing will change til the dynamics change which will only come from increased internal pressure. Which is why Obama is doing the right thing by campaigning to make the process go faster.

the GOP is simply going to oppose Obama no matter what and continue to move goal posts until then. This already happened with the Fiscal Cliff Deal. it's the same thing!

The "leadership" complaint is ridiculous. Imagine if Romney won and Harry Reid said he would filibuster anything without revenue increases and there is no negotiation til then? Would the GOP be crying about Romney's lack of leadership?

The GOP is filled with children and clowns (not always exclusively one or the other).

This is making my case for why a large federal government in this country is a horrible idea. You have too many voices, too many beliefs trying to blanket it under 1 signature. Its hilarious how we sit here idol and bitch and moan about how our inept 9% approval rate federal government is operating yet we handily give them the pleasure of doing this to us. Its hilarious seeing some people here who are upset the GOP doesn't just do what they or the Dems want them too, or how the Dems won't do what the GOP wants. Everyone loves when their ideas are shoved down the throats of others, as a sign of triumph like they defeated the enemy.

How much more division and failure must continue before you realize that that the current issues aren't from a lack of cooperation? Its from a system that is being fed by the force of one group over another, simply because we have placed ourselves in a position that breeds this hatred. Forget what you want, its what I want now, and you need to shut up and take it. This is exactly how some of you feel and act and vote.

If these were true cuts they wouldn't be called a sequester or have zero impact on long term debt or deficits. This is, as everybody is well aware, a political tool. The Republicans are just petulant children in this scenario. Their economic ideas and policies mirror those of the austere Europeans, they would result in utter ruin (As we saw with their earlier runs).

I guess we could go down the path of Europe and cut shit left and right. Look at what it's gotten them! Record unemployment, consistent pmi indices contracting, unemployment among the young skyrocketing thereby destroying the future of untold millions and ruining future earnings potential (also...government revenue), and a brain drain that's leaving Spain, Ireland, Greece, and coming soon Italy with nothing left to look forward to.

I'm not the biggest fan of Democrats either but from a purely objective standpoint what the Republicans want and what they've offered are usually two things:

A Political Talking point devoid of substance
