We won't get rid of food stamps. IMO the big driver for the program and increases are big ag/big food... way too much political clout.
Don't get me wrong I think government spending needs to be cut, I'm just fatalistic about it.

It only takes one ad on tv to show poor kids and say "will I be cold or hungry tonight?" and the food stamp train will continue.

Hey, you want to end cut food stamp programs?
here's an idea for you:
Come up with a solution to make people not need food stamps.
You know, instead of proposing draconian cuts to gov't and killing the economy and sending more people to be in need of food stamps.

Rather than the government subsidizing low wages, employers should be required to pay their employees enough so that they don't need food stamps. Excellent point, OP, very progressive of you.

If youre fat youre not poor. The government shouldnt be allowed to hand out food stamps since all it does is reward the lazy.
