Terrorism is an over-used buzz word, best used when speaking of non-state actors.
Zee bombs were total war.
While many of our other actions were more colonial wars/actions. We pretty much picked up the Western European empires after they fell apart in the 1950s. To be fair to us I think we've been an improvement over 19th century colonialism. Still have a ways to go.
