Posted: Wed May 07, 2014 3:43 pm1. The US government isn't after your guns. In all the developed world, you are by far the most lax when it comes to regulating guns. Even countries that are incredibly pro-gun ownership, like Switzerland, have far more regulations than you do. The threat of American gun confiscation is quite literally one of the most deluded fantasies I've ever encountered.
2. The US school system isn't perfect, but to describe it as a propaganda machine is simply wrong. Literally every aspect of the school system is controlled either by parents or by a teachers union. Go talk to teachers and ask them how powerful the local PTA is. Shit, most of the reason why the school system is so weird is because of parents and the undue influence they have over the system.
3. Building permits are absolutely necessary, as is "environmentalism." There is a good chance that if these two things hadn't have happened, tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of people would have been killed by poorly-constructed buildings, contamination of the water supply, exploding factories in residential neighbourhoods, etc. To complain about these things is to literally ignore just how bad things were. When is the last time that an American factory burned down and several hundred people were killed? When was the last time that a legal, inspected apartment tower simply collapsed? It takes a serious amount of ignorance to argue against such simple and reasonable regulations.
