I'm watching the new America movie right now
http://m.imdb.com/title/tt2785390/the movie basically says people say America stole Mexico killed Indians stole labor from blacks... but Howard zinn was a commie and a French dude wrote a book saying we are great lol
He also slaves were actually really lazy and really had nothing to do with American propsparity lol
I've never walked out of a movie but I'm close

I Don't necessarily disagree with you on anything you said. Yes it was more of a product of the time and not american, but I'M NOT THE ONE THAT MADE A MOVIE ON THE PREMISE OF DISCREDITING THESE POINTS.
The movie makes a premise, and does not prove it. Plain and simple.
Yes native Americans would have probably ended up wiping each other out eventually and yes they fought each other all the time, but that does not change the fact that we slaughtered the and took their land and forced the out of it. You can't answer a question by saying yeah but everyone else did it too lol.
This is really the issue that gets me about the G.O.P. If they came out and just said look... yeah we took some land. Yeah we got free labor fro African Americans. Yeah we can be imperialist. Our country would not be where it is today without those things. It's screwed up how you were treated and some of the things we did, no question about it. Then, just leave it at that. Where they lose people / myself is trying to say that for instance, well, see this black woman who became a millionaire, see this black slave owner? See there, it's not our fault! you're just lazy! this person made it why can't you?
like, because African Americans in 5 generations have not went from picking cotton on slave plantations to being able to send their kids to private schools and leave wills for their children and help their children afford to buy their first house, they are somehow lazier than their Caucasian counterparts.'
I mean, England was real imperialistic. But they gave it all back. We did not. WE would not have an immigration problem if Mexico and California were part of Mexico as they should be. All the oil in texas that would be mexico's oil. All the gold mining California would have been in Mexico.

I'm not saying we shouldn't have taken it. I'm saying don't pretend that us having Texas / California is not part of the reason that we prosper more than Mexico is my point.

It doesn't matter if feel guilt or not, you are living from the proceeds of that theft and thus complicit in it.
The collective entity known as the United States of America is guilty, if you belong to this group then you share the guilt.
