I doubt for long, that said China more than likely won't take any drastic military like action against them. As it be a really really bad thing if they did.

as hong kong and macau become wealthier and wealthier the CCP is going to desire more and more control. they'll either use some security risk BS to take over or just do what they do best: flood the places with patriotic, brainwashed chinese citizens until it naturally folds.

Hong Kong and Macau will hold out for about 2 minutes when the Chinese decide they are ready to take them back. It's just a matter of time before we are too weak to hold them back any more, and we are the only thing holding them at bay.

Brainwashing doesn't work when you have access to outside information. Since Hong Kong has access to outside information, the only way the patriotism class would work is if it's superior to the British education, which it probably is.
