I'm not overly surprised. Come the next election people will be shocked at how messed up the country is and blame the current government while those that voted Conservative will wash their hands clean claiming this is not what they voted for. In the same way how people reacted when the New Labour experiment failed and crashed into the ground, 'I didn't vote for this, I'll vote for one of the other parties regardless of their policies'. Yet lets be honest, in the UK do Labour offer an alternative - maybe. But it's nothing concrete, nothing solid that you could truly believe they offer something different. In the election they were caught between a rock and a hard place, now the country has to suffer with an overbearing Tory majority.
In short though, UK politics are terrible currently, it should never be about picking the worst of evils it should be about picking something good for the country, which is not currently the case.
