Or just manufacture spares. At least in the case of mechanical components. Electronics are more difficult. Not hard to machine things, and easier still to use these rather awesome tabletop milling machines that we've got now. These guys are actually pretty savvy with the tech side of things.
And then there's the Iranians, who've managed to keep a wing of F-14's sort of flying for decades.
