This is a prime example of why a no-fly zone is a horrible idea, and why it would be equally stupid to put in ground troops in an area where military from multiple countries are active.

LOL at conservative tough guy hero Putin's entrance to Syria. Promptly drops bombs on an ally, gets an airliner blown up in retaliation, and loses a warplane. Yay Mother Russia. God that country sucks.

But also this is pretty interesting. I'm intrigued to see how Putin will respond. He can't do much obviously.

i don't want anything bad to happen to the pilot but can you imagine if ISIS gets him and makes a video of his execution? the PR is shifting away from putin's corner.

Now it sounds like the pilots were shot dead as they descended under parachutes by Turkmen paramilitary operating in Syria....strange days.
