State of the Union addresses are such f**k trash. bring 535 dorks into a big room so their dork commander can speak in 10 second increments before being interrupted by 45 seconds of applause for anything the dorks even moderately agree with. Oh yeah, and the speech itself is just the president saying that we MUST act now to [do all the shit I wanted to do last year but didn't happen]. I also hate how every big policy item must be accompanied by some "ordinary American" who the whitehouse invited to attend the speech just so the president can make him stand up and be like "See this guy? He has a backstory that you should find compelling and my plan would help him". Stop doing that. It's been lame for a while now.

Just turn the State of the Union into a 20 minute youtube video.

I watched the first five minutes. If he stayed on message then this was his most presidential performance yet.

Irrespective of that, SOTUs seem kind of cheesy and the pseudo-patriotism is hard to watch. And I really don't get why anyone would clap for this man.

I also thought the speech was excellent. Maybe you disagree with the policies or don't like him but Trump crushed it. Democrats are f**k clueless if they think that's not how most of the country (and certainly all republicans) saw it.

Then again, I would say that. Apparently I'm the only one who actually watched the whole thing.
