Honestly... this shit has got to stop.

Every single year, the leading blowhard of the ruling government will issue more tax credits to parents. Every year, parents will successfully lobby for more services. And with every child they have, the tax-paid-to-services-received ratio gets even more f**k.

Is it just me, or is anyone else frustrated as shit by this constant pandering to parents? Like I don't mind paying for universal child care, or universal health or dental care, or sports programs, or any of that other shit... what I care about is that I will be paying more than someone else who makes the exact same income, simply because I don't want kids!

Get f**k parents. This double-dipping on both sides of the transaction has to end. Want more services for your precious spawn? Then pay your f**k taxes like the rest of us, instead of forcing literally everyone to subsidize your shit.

While I agree with the sentiment I understand the policy implications. Declining birth rates in the developed world poses a challenge for governments all over. Japan, a country fervently against immigration in general, is now considering such because its population is contracting. All across Europe birth rates are down and the replacement rate is neutral or negative (contracting). In the US our replacement rate is relatively healthy almost entirely because of immigrants...

I see it at work too. Parents get special consideration re what time a shift starts/ends based on child's schedule. Drives me nuts.

It's a feeling of entitlement. To be fair - their price is raising the country's future economic growth. While you may pay more in taxes what will they pay in education? Room and board? Etc?
