Huh:
https://thehill.com/policy/finance/5756 ... bt-ceilingKinda seems like it. Whether through the Democrats uniting or their divisions laid bare causing the establishment to worry about accidentally falling into failure it would seem that Cocaine Mitch actually had to offer the Dems a path here. And Trump is also working to capitalize off of it.
More than anything this should be seen for what it truly is -
ominous.

he only kinda blinked. he now has more than enough leeway to just say the dems couldn't get it done and its their fault
of course he's doing all this simply so that the freebie reconciliation bill is tanked to leave dems having to waste the bill on the debt ceiling, i guess, and he certainly could blink again in december, but he comes out with a stronger hand by agreeing now
alternatively the dems could finally get their shit together, pass everything, then demand to fix the debt ceiling and it all would be on the republicans. mcconnell is thinking that won't happen since he's got the ace up his sleeve of rollin coal joe manchin

Hoping the Dems don't blink on this but I know they will. They should hold out and force either the nuclear option, mint a coin, or cause the GOP to vote in favor. They have to stop bending over when the GOP suddenly decides they don't want to fund bills they've already passed.
There has to be a point where the Dems say enough is enough. If the GOP wants to tank the economy let them. If the Dems are the ones in charge who cares - let US business decide what side they want to support. So tired of this bullshit. Dems passed of the GOP debt limits. f**k this.

I don't know why the Dems accepted the 2 month extension. You're going to have to deal with this eventually, might as well rip the band aid off and deal with it long-term now. So many options to choose from
1) Don't pass an extension at all, declare the debt limit unconstitutional and continue to service the debt. See if the courts have the balls to threaten the global economy
2) Attach the increase to the $3.5 trillion bill and dare democratic holdouts to tank it. You tank the reconciliation bill, you also tank the economy
3) End the filibuster for the debt limit
Regardless of how they go about it, they should increase the amount so significantly that it's off the table as a bargaining chip for the foreseeable future , or remove the law altogether.
