But also, it takes a week to go through two pages of total discussion. There is just not enough going on here. It's hard to want to post something here with substantial effort when barely anybody will put in the same effort to respond, and they're not required to.

Maybe it was right to lock that thread. I subsequently made some of my best postings. At least in my opinion. Unfortunately not many are interested in my favorite subject matter so not a lot of people want to join my threads, so yes Stratego, it sometimes seems to be a wasted effort.

So from now on I will follow thread creation protocol more closely. I was mad because Aaron produced an interesting response and I thought the thread had potential to go somewhere from there. My long response got cut off by the lock, which was annoying.

Well, follow the rules. It's not up to Aaron or any other member to try to take your threads somewhere, that's your job as the OP.

But if Aaron has already generated an interesting response, and the thread has already taken its course, why lock it? The point of the forum is to promote the exchange of ideas. If a shitty OP was able to achieve that point, then what's the value in locking it?
