New Rule makes no sense

It's now against the rules to have the same avatar as another poster, which means at any moment, someone could change their av to match mine and we would BOTH then be in violation of the rules.
This is a stupid rule. Why was it added?

I don't get it either. No one owns their avatars. If there are two posters using the same avatar how will it be determined who had theirs first? How will it be determined who to "possibly ban"" How will it be argued that there was a problem and that the intention was problematic?
What is with your avatar Philly? Why is it NAB's with the addition of RIP? I don't understand what is going on. Never mind, I get it after seeing the relevant thread.
