The US should have 2 year mandatory national service

I think it is stupid to make it mandatory. Alot of highly productive things have been done by 18-25 year olds because they have the time to experiment, start new businesses ect. I think a voluntary program to teach young Americans job skills, build national unity ect. wouldn't be a bad idea if it was administered properly.

College trains people for professional services. That's the intended purpose of higher education. Or it should be.

It's the people who aren't needed in the professional service sector who should focused upon by a national training program. Maybe it will take some emphasis off of getting a useless degree or whatever and put some on becoming part of a useful national labor force.

Definitely not mandatory, though. That's another step toward totalitarianism.

we should be less like that that, not more.

That's the problem with US society there are two totalitarianistic perspectives in government that are battling it out for how they want society to be more in control of individuals. Both are essentially irrational. It's all based on a fear based reaction by a mass of dimly aware people to various forms of sensationalistic propaganda and thus the vicious result of the worst sort of bullshittery

Someday every human will live in a big building and will need to be biometrically scanned for access privileges to go from room to room.

I hope I'm dead before that happens. lol

Yeah the US should definitely not do this.

Also, the US should work to decrease the amount of people doing military service.
