Yea agreed, it would have to be some seriously major system failure for it not to be.

I think it's possible something happened to cause the power to go in the cockpit, turning off the transponders and the plane to decompress causing everyone to die of apoxia and the plane to carry on its merry way until running out of fuel and crashing out in the Pacific somewhere.

Or a bomb took it out but then there would have been someone taking credit for it.

I'm starting to lean towards "not terrorist", also. Why? No one has claimed credit, that I've heard of at least.

One theory that they're currently investigating is the possibility that the plane was crashed on purpose by the pilot like the Egypt Air flight a few years back (they're doing extensive background checks on the flight crew right now). The lack of a distress call from that altitude reduces the chances of some mechanical failure, and so far no large debris field which would lead to the possibility of a bomb. It's some really weird shit right now.
