I don't understand why Bob would stain his credibility by doing something like this. He's pretty much a journalistic icon.

He said he was threatened. He clearly wasn't.
Even if you misconstrue the e-mail sent to him as a threat, his response makes it very clear it wasn't a threat. Come on, man.
