That may or may not be true. But either way, such weapons have no utility and this any degree of danger outweighs the rock bottom usefulness of these weapons. They shouldn't be permitted just so people can have fun. These are dangerous weapons.
Pistols may have been more damaging in such a situation (i kinda doubt you, but ok) but, again, pistols have value whereas an AR-15 has none.
Cue the "blah blah blah video games and cars" nonsense response.
