I think it is insulting to black people to tell them that because of slavery and Jim Crow and whatever past history that you, the black person, needs special help to succeed inferring that they have inherited a deficiency in themselves simply due to their race.

Yes Com you and every other white-guilt leftist/liberal apologist is indeed insulting black people in thinking they are at a disadvantage for reasons that aren't relevant these many years on. (SCOTUS recent VRA ruling ring any bells?). Pathetic really.

I'm black and I'm pretty successful and I must say, I don't need anyone to give me a goddamn thing. I would be offended if someone thought i needed some special help to do what my white counterparts can do. I'm just as smart, talented, educated, motivated, etc. I don't need crap from anyone.

Also lol at the hick who thinks because his distant ancestors may have been slaves during the Roman Empire that this is in any way equivalent to being a few generations removed from slavery in the US, where there is still a massive social stigma associated with not being white...

There was still apartheid in this country when I was a kid. You aren't suffering the same kind of social impact because some guy might have been a slave two thousand years ago in a land that no longer even exists than someone who still lives in the same basic system that once enslaved people like them in the recent past. That is the most utterly thoughtless argument to be made under the rubric of inadvertent racism.
