God this dicussion is hard to keep in check with.
1) Unfortunately Saz there are people in the Israeli government who do want to expand israel's boarders. Quite possibly as much as 10-15 MP's depending on how honest there answering the questions. Werid things get weirder when you consider the fact that what type of jew you are matters to the orthodox nutcases. Shas is all about Sephardic's and kinda wants a theocratic state. There's a pro-Russian jew secular party, also a Lithuanian one. Both pro settlement, Oy vey!
2) Exploited srsly, if your really looking for an explanation on this, you need to delve deeper into Israeli internal politics. Unfortunately, likely no media source bar perhaps maybe the economist can be bothered to report on this and presents Israel as a largely united front. Its not, f**k seriously they even have a islamist party with 3 mp's. Making this shit up, I am not.
3) Also correction, apparently Yisrael Beiteinu's platform includes a two-state solution commitment, with land swaps.
4) Land swaps issues though. cuz no body actually wants gaza bar Hamas. Deerrrrppp. It be best for everyone is Egypt took it back frankly. But that makes a Hamas a non-entity so not going to happen.
Or rather, its f**k confusing. One thing that super-pisses me off though, is the pro-Palestine lot trying to sand it down with rhetoric about apartheid and shit.
