First, stalking is a defined illegal act that Zimmerman did not do. He followed the kid, which is not illegal. Second, he certainly has the right to confront. Everyone has that right. He could not detain, no, but confront? Absolutely.
I have the right to walk up to someone and say "Hey, how are you doing?" and they have the right to ignore me and walk on by. I also have the right to walk up to someone and say "What are you doing here?" and they have the right to ignore me and walk on by. They do not have the right to attack me.
