Well, even if you are vaccinated, you can still get it. In fact, the primary case of this outbreak was traced to a vaccinated person.

Basically, if you get vaccinated as a kid, you have to go for periodic updates, as your natural immunity will wane as years (decades) go by.

I'm NOT saying that the vaccine is ineffective, or causes any side effects. I'm saying, as the medical community is saying, that you need to be vaccinated regularly - once might not cut it.

There was a another article that I read yesterday (can't find it now) that talked about hoe people who had gotten 2 vaccine shots were still a little susceptible. Basically, they were saying that perhaps we should all get them every decade or so.

The best teacher is fire. If it takes a nice epidemic and a bunch of dead people for these morons to figure out that they probably shouldn't have listened to Jim Carrey about their healthcare decision making, then I guess that's what it takes.

When it comes to public health threats I'm very intolerant of religious objections. Unvaccinated kids shouldn't be allowed into public schools. If your religion precludes vaccination, tough. I guess you'll have to find some other way to educate your kid.

honestly vaccinations should be mandatory. too many people rely on herd immunity to keep from getting sick and it's ridiculous to put them at risk so as to avoid the feelings of suburban moms.

Yup. Vaccine fear is the same kind of psuedoscience behind fear of GMOs and stuff like that.
