She was almost certainly doomed in any case. Probably better than being beheaded or burned on video.

I don't think it matters how she died. I think that ISIS/ISIL/Daesh had to do something to save face. Two of theirs were executed and they got bombed heavily.

Unfortunate combination of the two. I think intellectually she realizes she very well may get chained to a wall and gangraped unto death. But that isn't connecting with the forebrain, or its occluded behind the feel good altruism.
