Just picked up the Gunslinger. Will see if it isn't total crap, it's nice that the first book in the series is incredibly short. I feel like I could read this thing taking a dump.

I'm reading"The Master's Book of Bonsai" compiled by the directors of the The Japan Bonsai Association.

I got this bonsai tree:


It's an Australian Brush Cherry (that's a blue agave next to it). I also have a juniper I'm starting from scratch with. This cherry was basically trained already, I just had to shape it a little bit but I hope it will look like this one day:

Just finished this. Little different, kind of an urban fantasy but a bit different from the typical vampires, werewolves etc. Focuses on the war between the Winter and Summer Fae courts with the backdrop of an immortal circus. Enjoyed it quite a bit.

So I've read a million books in my life.. But I can't believe I've never read a book written by Hemingway.. Heard about him many times, read a couple bios about him, but never read one of his books..

So I am getting my summer reading list together on my Kindle, and paperbacks.. We are taking a few long vacas in the Adirondacks, and to Virginia Beach, probably to Fla. too.. Lots of free time.. So I want to add 1 or 2 Hemingway books to this years summer reading..

Gimme 2-3 good reads..

Honestly, the best Hemingway was his short stories, imo. Overlooked by most. Find an anthology of those. Farewell to Arms is probably the best book.

Hemingway irritates me. His ego soaks through everything he writes. Faulkner is the same way.
