If aliens attack would monkeys join our side?

If aliens attack earth would monkeys join our side? I've heard the argument that if aliens attack, people would forget our differences and unite as earthlings against aliens. I tend to believe that would be true. But will human beings be the only creature that would have a sense of earthling identity? Would monkeys, horses and lions also feel a sense of duty to earth?
Sigmund Freud defined four parts of a psyche; the id, the ego, the superego and the stratego. The Stratego being the highest form of morality and scientific thinking.
If guns are not outlawed, the in-laws will have guns.

If they can get here, they can probably kick our ass. Our best hope is they evolved beyond the need to kick ass.
