Also, poor people eat out, because its cheaper and they don't have time to cook because their working. But yeah rest of your list indicate your lack of knowledge and your romantic love of California. But it's ok, you can still like your flyover state , not a big deal. Idk why people get so worked over where they live.

Can't really split things up along political lines, as it would be economically pretty bad news for the red staters. They'd have far lower populations and industrial strengths, and lack access to decent seaports and such. Would beggar them in terms of revenues.

At least on the west coast there's been talk of splitting the high population, liberal, coastal areas from the more inland rural areas, which are heavily conservative. In the PacNW it basically falls along the Cascade Mountains-east is red stater territory, west is blue. I suppose Oregon and Washington could be reformed into a single coastal state and a single inland state...and that inland state would blend very nicely with Idaho and Montana, methinks. The coast WA-OR state could probably blend in with NorCal easily enough.

I suppose the eastern half of Cali could be peeled off and hooked up with Nevada and Utah?

At least it would make the rural votes count for something. Right now the population centers of Portland/Seattle/Bay Area/LA-Land utterly dictate how things go on the Best Coast.
