Bah. There've still got to be some neighborhood places down there where you can get a decent pancake or burger that hasn't been pulled from a freezer without spending $15....
We've got a snobby foody scene too, and there has been price inflation, but there are also plenty of places around that actually make real food and don't charge much more than fast food. It doesn't have to be gourmet to be good. Just taking out the microwaved and pre-frozen element is usually all it takes.
But yeah, the food trucks have gone from "effing bargain!" to "Now that they've been on Food Network they think they're restaurants" way too damned fast.
