Wouldn't the more balanced statement be to eradicate extremists from the planet? And by eradicate I don't mean kill people--here, better idea: eradicate extremism.
A War on Extremism, if you will.
Because sure you can get rid of all the Islamist extremists but what about the Christian fundies? If we're going to go there, let's go all the way there.

Hai gais, I want to eradicate poverty in the world. Obviously the only possible explanation for this statement is that we should round up all the poor people and kill them, nazi camp concentration style.
