I don't actually have as much of a problem with spiritualism so much as with ORGANIZED religions. From a personal perspective there's a lot to be gained and learned, even if it falls outside of the logical cause/effect scientific framework. But religions have largely been used as tribal identifiers and political/social justifications for various abhorent actions when it comes to the "material" world. They should not have a place or a voice in ruling and governing. They are at their most valuable when far, far away from the corrupting influence of politics and materialism.

Hey Exploited I'm no fan of religion either. If it were gone tomorrow I think we'd be a better planet. It's all too often the basis for justifying the completely unjustifiable.

But I'm certainly not going to outlaw it either or ban it. I honestly don't know what the answer is--how to separate the "good" religious people from the bad.

Your ideas are certainly good ones right there.

But here's the rub: when you convince rube Americans that they're to hate Muslims just for being Muslims and they act out on that whether in word or actions or policy, then we can't implement your ideas because what Muslim is going to want to sign up on Team America?

EXACTLY my point was to why all the Muslim-baiting prevents the very thing you're suggesting. Which is why you need to eradicate THAT, too.

If religion was a true global thing, there probably wouldn't be any poverty because we would share. Its used more to determine who to hate/kill, rather then lead a life of higher morals.
