I don't actually have as much of a problem with spiritualism so much as with ORGANIZED religions. From a personal perspective there's a lot to be gained and learned, even if it falls outside of the logical cause/effect scientific framework. But religions have largely been used as tribal identifiers and political/social justifications for various abhorent actions when it comes to the "material" world. They should not have a place or a voice in ruling and governing. They are at their most valuable when far, far away from the corrupting influence of politics and materialism.
