Attacking someone verbally because of a physical characteristic like skin color is pretty despicable regardless. True, the term "cracker" is something that can be used lightheartedly and without malice, not something that is true with the term "ethnic group member", at least not when it's said by a "white" person. It can also be a malicious hateful term. Again, not trying to equate the two. Just recognizing that at it's base, literal meaning it is racist. Just like in it's most base literal meaning the terms "dick" or "flower of paradise" are dehumanizing by reducing people to genital body parts. Not sure why you're insisting no one should ever feel even slightly offended by it when it's a term designed to offend.
