60 years ago we would have otherthrown Iran's government and installed a dictator.

I can say that with confidence because literally that is what happened exactly sixty years ago in 1953. In the succeeding years we've done the same exact thing hundreds of times. And we about to do it again to Syria, while blatantly lying to make it seem humanitarian. Our ethics ARE EXACTLY THE SAME as they were sixty years ago. Actually worse because since we decide to go with a global empire there have been a lot of compromises.

I disagree. Clearly the military is far more powerful and influential and has been the power behind the throne along. The biggest obstacle to democracy in Egypt is US influence, not the Muslim Brotherhood.

They are merely one group that opposes imperialism. Like the majority of people in the Middle East they want real democracy so they can throw us out and reform their nation.

You don't seem to be able to accept that.
