I hate to agree with the OP since he himself offered nothing in the way of a useful debate point but...

pro-gun control democrats are f**k morons. No one cares about guns unless you try to control them. Gun control is THE most dysfunctional and suicidal aspect of Democratic "liberal" politics... and it's f**k pathetic that these people keep getting caught up in it... especially in a politically diverse state such as CO.

But the Colorado public supported one of the bills and was split on the other.

I think the only reason the recall worked is simply because independents weren't motivated to vote while gun nuts are always motivated and come out in full force.

If the recall happened during last Novemeber's election, it loses.

I really think the Repubs are overthinking it. Morris announced his retirement before the recall stuff and was done after this year, anyway. Giron had the support of the voters on the bills; but again it was the nutters that were more motivated. I don't see any indies jumping board cuz of this.

All the GOP keeps proving is that they have more nuts in the bag to care during weird election periods. It's not a viable long term solution. It didn't even flip the balance of power in Colorado (3 other recalls failed). It won't change the law. It won't change much of anything other than needlessly harm 1 political career.

This is the last vestiges of a dying breed. We always see them fight like hell before the end.
