How the hell does his name come out as "Bainer".

I've heard this recently. His name has suddenly changed from "Boner" to "Bainer". WTF is that about???

Could someone give me a word in which "OE" comes out with a hard "A" sound. I've called him "Beaner" for the longest time because of "amoeba" and "phoenix". Which is kinda weird but at least does have some backing. I know he doesn't wanna be associated with being the "bonehead" that he is and I sure as hell know he doesn't wanna be associated with any "Beaners"(though the ones I know work a hell of a lot harder than he ever has). But....

Well in the German settled regions of Central Texas they pronounce it "Kay-nig". I live near "Kay-nig" Lane in Austin TX, for example.

probably some kind of bastardization of the correct pronunciation though. lol

I always thought is was pronounced Bonn(like the German City)-ner... When it comes to names, who the hell knows..

The worse was Bret Favre, ex-QB of the Green Bay Packers..

His name was ALWAYS pronounced Far-va.. Even though it is spelled with the v before the r..
