Feedback for possible site changes

To Address some of the concerns in the last few post:

1. You want be banned for your beliefs. I've had several bad encounters will forums that don't like to hear other opposing side opinions. I hated it.
2.Secondly, the current admin here, if he chooses to, may also serve at the new forum, this will also ensure that there is no abuse of "power" on any side of the staff.
3. I think it would be best if the name changed. So yes, they name will have to change. I see many don't like the "Patriot", so that's more than fair enough.
4. We'd merge to our forum because of the better software, the more capabilities,and the ability to expand better.

We're not buying members, we're using the site as a whole and growing the site together.

It appears to me that the forum is slowly dying, I'd like to step in and stop that before it hits the grave. Their are some changes that I find are a must to ensure that.

FWIW my two cents:

-What makes this place special is that it is NOT the typical Crossfire-type left talking points vs. FOX talking points that you find on, frankly, almost every political forum. Believe me, when PP was dying I searched far and wide for the most down-the-middle, not-like-that forum and then this came along. I had decided that if was always going to be like that I was just quit forums.

We may be a small group but people here know how to make arguments and support them as opposed to what most forums are--merely people in mortal combat throwing talking points at each other. A lot of people here have even conceded a point--gasp!--after debating it from the other side--I've done it myself.

So while bigger may sound better if it's going to be overloaded with the FOX news types it's going to be a rough ride--the name with "patriotic" in it also sends a signal which I don't think is necessarily what we're about; you'll find very few here of the core posters ever wrapping themselves in the flag. Many of them aren't in the U.S.

If the move is inevitable, what I would ask first is that the rules as the exist here be enforced for real: the reason this hasn't become a cesspool is Ueber and the others would actually ban people who continually violate the rules. That IMO is the only reason it has the quality it does.

The other thing I remember from the previous two moves is the bummer of getting on the new site and being re-set to zero posts. Perhaps we could take that stat along with just to establish the more senior/experienced members?
