And I've clarified that Wilson has been a mediocre thrower this season. You're trying to compare Wilson, this season, to a hurt Griffin. That's not fair. I think Griffin has more talent and is a better thrower. Wilson plays it safe, ala Alex Smith since Harbaugh. Did you watch MNF? He was awful Bad read, inaccurate. Just got lucky a defender missed a gimme int that turned into a td, otherwise they lose and his game would have been trashed.
And Wilson's numbers are not "damn good." He's on pace for 26 TDs, 8 INTs, 3200 yards, on 60% completion, 54 sacks, and 16 fumbles (10 lost!). Those are not good QB numbers at all.
The reason his completion percentage is so high is because he doesn't throw the ball away and instead gets sacked or runs. wilson has less passing attempts than guys who have played fewer games, like Schaub, Henne, etc.
In fact, his numbers right now are almost identical to 2010 Josh Freeman.
You're the one who argued that stats don't tell everything and I'm telling you, Wilson has been very mediocre throwing the football. Take out the Jax game (a non-NFL team) and his numbers look much worse. That doesn't mean he won't get better. Second half last season Wilson was very good. I have no idea why he's struggled.
Oh, and Washington's receivers outside Garcon are bad, too. Wilson has Miller, Rice, and Tate at least (until Rice went down).
