It doesn't matter because this obviously lame attempt to limit speech is a phailure before it even got off of the ground. That's not going to really work out for a site that is dedicated to free expression of ideas and free speech.

Limit free speech? Seriously this is just lazy thinking dharma. Let's review this thread: 1) I post a simple request that more specialized conversations about guns be kept out of chat, 2) gun owners troll the OP including ad hominems and crazy non sequiturs like "no one else uses chat!". How is my request though violating any of your rights, freedom of speech, etc.? It's simple reasoning based on the features of the forum and their intended purpose. There is already an entire, vast separate subforum where you can post all day about guns. All this is simple common sense about how to use the forum and its functions. It's not undermining your rights as a citizen of the internet, the earth, and the universe. Jesus christ, talk about you all giving a shit. Methinks the lady doth protest too much.
