Coverage =/= premiums.
When an insurance company calculates premiums, it takes into account many factors. Being a woman is one of them. And, since maternity costs are both likely and high, then it slightly increases a premium for women. But, because men tend to lead unhealthier lives, and are more prone to heart disease and other risks, theirs go even higher.
It's not different than how a woman's policy also covers testicular cancer. Or how a man's coverage will also cover ovarian cancer.
