These are apologies for how free speech was used, regardless of when the apology happened.
And I'll say it again, if you support free speech, no apology is needed. No apology is needed because offensive choices of words sometimes happen with free speech. That is its nature.
The fact that this happens is a good thing. It's an example that free speech exists. If it did not exist, offensive words would never happen.
