I love the way people hate on Thatcher for 'destroying' the manufacturing in the UK. There is sweet f**k all value added in manufacture, it's design, development and retail where all value is added and it's these things our relatively well educated work-force should be concentrating on. If you think I'm wrong then just check the numbers:
Foxconn 2011:
Turnover: 102.74 billion US$
Proft: 2.64 billion US$
Compared with..
Apple 2011:
Turnover: 108.249 billion US$
Proft: 25.922 billion US$
Another example is what I see at work everyday. A company like Timberland or Nike is paying the factory a few dollars, maybe 10 USD at the most, for a pair of shoes and they're retailing at what... 150 - 200 USD?? Why do the left seem so mad that were not doing this shit work anymore?.... oh yeah economically they're totally illiterate.
Thatcher was visionary in letting the manufacturing jobs go... we don't want them. The left hate her bacause they simply can't understand why she did what she had to.
