This sport is finished. I spent my morning listening to Mike & Mike debate whether or not a quarterback should be protected like a kicker.

Anyone know which channels broadcast Rugby?

Yeah, QBs should be protected. Like a kicker, they are the ONLY player on the field who is the target of 4-8 people on every play. Receivers are only the target when they catch the ball, so ever 12th play or so. Runners are only the target on every 3rd or 4th play (and they are usually much larger and better protected by padding).

Unless we're OK with QBs turning out like Bradshaw (can't remember half the current players' names), then we need to protect them.

The QB's have to be protected.. There is nothing worse then watching a 2nd or 3rd string QB try to qb a good team.. I watched some of the GB vs. Giants game yesterday.. Watching GB play anyone with Rodgers is an absolute joy.. Watching GB without him is painful..

Imagine NE without Brady.. Or SF without Kaepernick... Or NO without Brees.. Pitt without Rothlesburger.. These guys are the league, it's a QB driven league now.. The NFL has to either protect them or suffer having games like the GB-Giant game yesterday.. It should have been one of the great games yesterday.. Instead it was unwatchable.

Anyway Seattle still has some tough games left.. But NO still has to go to Seattle. If NO doesn't win there, and they probably won't it looks like Seattle has the home field all the way through the playoffs..

I mean the anticipation of taking that big hit is as much a factor in putting pressure on a QB as the loss of yards resulting from a sack. If you wanna take that away you're really changing the dynamic of the game. Some guys aren't afraid to take a hit if they need another split second and have a quick release. Others fold like a lawn chair when they see the pass rushers coming for them. I think that type of mental and physical toughness in a QB should be an asset, which it won't be if you can't get a big on any of them.
