About half way through a crazy book called The End of Mr Y by Scarlett Thomas. Rather too philosophical for my taste. Plot not bad but keeps banging on about Derrida, Heidegger, language, existence of god, big bang, etc. Bought the new Ian McEwan today so will start that instead.

As per Winch's advice Im reading No Country For Old Men- pretty good, probably the least dense Cormac McCarthy novel I have in my private library. Cleared up some things too- namely it seems the novel is set in the present day (I got confused by the movie somewhat because Anton Chigurh was using anachronistic weapons like the Tec-9 and Glock even though it claimed to be set in 1980).
