Frankly, other than the fact it could have done with a bit more specifificy about the groups and ideologies involved, I thought roy's mini essay was pretty good.
As i've said, if you can bare it, try to read qutbi's milestones. It's what most of the movers and shakers in the 'death to infidel' movement consider their core text.

Nice one, Boris. And it's actually quite amusing to follow the various ways in which reactionaries go haywire. (It's as if this one short-circuits whenever a particular issue raises an internal conflict.)
Getting back on topic, it is quite unsettling to see protests encompassing Morocco, Tunisia, Yemen, Sudan, Iran, Iraq, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. It is also worth noting that Egypt's president Mursi has called for anti-American protests to be held throughout the country, albeit in a peaceful fashion as opposed to his radical adversaries in the Salafist movement.
