Got a question - what is magical about the border of the USA?
Did the Detroit steel workers NOT get upset when ThyssenKrupp moved their new steel facility to Alabama instead of the Rust Belt? Or when MB opened up their huge facility in Birmingham (I think, somewhere around there) instead of going to Michigan?
Companies go where the best labor can be had for cheapest. The only way to truly (and not hypocritically) hate what a company CEO has chosen is to put yourself in their shoes and say you would have done it different. If you were the CEO of your company, would you have made the same choice?
I'm faced with choices like this (not this magnitude, mind you) often. Obama and other Dems wrote a rule in PPACA that said that we had to offer health insurance to employees, but they never said anything about families. Facing increasing premiums and costs, we are having to decide if we want to keep subsidizing coverage for the families. If I were a regular employee, then I'd be screaming "YES, cover my family".
But, I'm not. I'm tasked with maximizing profit for the stakeholders. So, pursuant to the rules that were written, we are looking at not offering insurance to spouses.
