And I picked up a dead 42" HD TV on the side of the road. The manufacturer was long out of business so I googled the make, model and problem. Turns out the capacitors on the power supply board go out. Sure enough, this TV had bulging capacitors. I ordered the kit to repair it. I replaced the bulging ones and even others that weren't bulged that were in the kit.
Plugged in the TV and now it's more dead than ever. Oh well, at least I found out what the 400v capacitor will do when an errant index finger finds it. I know if I order a power supply it will work but I don't think its worth the money.
