Arcade Fire's songs are not like most songs. I could cite at least 55 songs written by Dylan that would make even otherwise thoughtful, intelligent songs seem like the scribblings of a preschooler. That doesn't mean that most songs are not composed of simple lyrics. Most songs have shit lyrics. That's what makes a band like Arcade Fire all the better and more important.

I'm not saying that Lorde's lyrics are intelligent or compelling or anywhere near the level of Arcade Fire's. I simply said that I enjoyed her album. I also said that I enjoyed ASAP Ferg's album. That is a good indication that I sometimes listen to music with little concern for lyrical content. Sometimes I like music just because of the way it all sounds. I am a fan of the Liminanas. They are a French band who sing in French. I don't know what they're singing about until I translate it online, but it sounds amazing.
