A better description of the US would be corporatism, which is the socioeconomic system favoured by fascists.
That said, if Mogli means that Obama is a Communist, as in a state capitalist, that isn't all that far from the truth. Of course when you get to these levels of wealth and power inequalities, these systems start to feel the same, even if they differ technically from one another.
