When you say "Time to put the bar back to individual liberty," when exactly are you referring too?
Out of all of North American history, the average individual has never had as many liberties as now. Do you know what they used to convict people for? Homosexuality. They'd throw you in mental asylums and literally leave you to rot... for just about anything. If you protested about a war, they'd charge you with sedition and throw you in jail. If you were Japanese seventy years ago, you got the internment camp. Then there was slavery, the treatment of women, the awful standards for criminal convictions, etc.
And that is just the tip of the iceberg.
