I'm glad this thread turned into an alcohol discussion because the OP was pretty boring.
Let's clear up a couple things.
There is nothing wrong with cocktails. Drinking alcohol neat/on the rocks/with water is just fine, but it's not a more proper or manly way to consume alcohol.
American Rye whiskey is the best whiskey. Then scotch, bourbon, Irish, and Canadian in that order.
Pecan pie is f**k gross.

If you're going to add whiskey to a dessert it ought to be bread pudding, not some shitty nut pie. It's a southern thing for a reason.
