The ACA isn't really a cost controlling measure so it's foolish to use that as a metric for success. Single payer would be curb costs significantly.

The goals of ACA are threefold:
1. Improving Quality & Lowering Healthcare Costs
2. New Consumer Protections
3. Access to Healthcare

Sorry if this shatters your world kid, but politicians are sometimes misleading or downright dishonest. This law was never about reducing costs.
